Revenge
With the darkest hour past
The first mellow tones give way
To a spectacle of Rudy strooned reds ,
drawn ember edged clouds
dragged the horizon by the turning sky
Cold yet warm in their radiant colours
Not a sound as this new day is born
No crackle no hiss no fuss as the sky begins to burn
upon a hill the glowing shockwave lights a stark lonely tree
stunned by the glare,
charcoal branches reached like black lightning to the sky
Eerie shadow fingers
that reach across the field below soon dwindle
light racing searching seeking out every nook and cranny
down in the dark cold dismal valley
dark corners retreat banished by the warming rays
a crescendo of gold’s and browns
beech , oak , ash , elm stand proud leafs chattering in their golden shroud
Radiant beams flash across the meadows
Rabbits rise little monoliths to the flood
Low mist tinted with oaker haze
still hovered above the church yard graves
Yesterdays ploughed toile,
furrows now blessed with ribbons of light along their crests
slowly warming to this new days best
the sleepy farm yard life begins to stir ,
the cockerel takes to a pedestal
to salute with a fanfare, wake ye all
wisps of creamy smoke rising twisting turning
the scent of burning logs fill the air
mixed with the smell of country fair
Then on a whim light fades
the sky starts to darken
hark silence has fallen
frozen in time watching waiting
clouds gathered thick and grey
soft dream light melts away
like blossom on the breeze
petals floating dancing drifting
flakes of autumn begin to fall
a mottled blanket grows and covers all
fields meadows fade away
white filtering brown to grey
the flurry turns to haste
the white carpet unfurls lays waste
peace falls upon the land
pristine uniformed rounded smooth
the mechanised world halts
centuries unwind rollback
the past returns
snow , ice , freezing wind
all mighty mankind on its knees
Mother Nature takes revenge
By me , 1260engineer.
